Our Judge Panel is a huge part of what makes February Fire a fair, fun cannabis cup to participate in. We select our Judges based on many factors, including experience, attention to detail, and quality feedback.
Both experienced and inexperienced Judges are selected each year. We are here to elevate the community, and part of that is giving the community the opportunity to experience something that, traditionally, has been the realm of “industry experts”.
We also bring many experts onto our Judge Panel. Commercial and personal growers with years (or decades) of experience, folks who have judged cannabis cups in the past, lifelong tokers… we pull a bunch of the experience we have locally together in our Judge Panel each year.
During the month of December, we will host Judging Workshops where prospective Judges can learn about the evaluation process and show off their skills. The scheduling and tickets for these workshops will become available on this website in November, so stay tuned!
Judging takes place during the month of January, 2027. Each Judge we select will receive a Judging Package, and will give each sample it’s own session to ensure every entry gets a proper evaluation.
A second round of judging will take place in February 2027, and will be a group activity. Select Judges will be presented with the top scoring samples in each category. They will rank them head to head, and will reach a consensus as to the rankings.
